Take Action NOW to help World of Wonders continue to serve the community
Dear WOW Families and Friends,
We are extremely excited to announce the future growth and expansion of World of Wonders
As many of you know, during the past year we have been involved in a dispute regarding the current space occupied by WOW. As of this week, a multi-agency agreement has been approved by all parties involved that has created a compromise to better serve all the children of Union County.
Over the next few years WOW will be moving its operations to the YMCA at 1250 Charles Lane. We are excited to enter into this partnership with the YMCA while maintaining our independent and individualized program. We are also looking forward to the benefits that partnering with the YMCA will bring to our school as well as the community at large. The following is an outline of each phase of the move and a little bit about what our families should expect.
Phase 1: School aged care at the YMCA. In early 2018 our school aged program will move to the YMCA. As the YMCA currently has an open classroom, previously used by the YMCA preschool, we will be licensing the space to continue to support our growing school aged childcare program. During this phase, school agers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the YMCA. We will arrange for bussing from the YMCA and there should be no interruption of care. Along with the move we will be adding a Curriculum Director to our team to meet our growing program.
Phase 2: Preschool and Pre-kindergarten at the YMCA. During the summer of 2018 we will be moving both of our preschool rooms and our pre-k classroom to the YMCA. Both the YMCA and WOW are working with a company to customize these classrooms to fit our specific needs. During this time, we will be able to not only add additional slots to our pre-k program, but we will also have the ability to combine our two preschool classrooms into one, two-teacher, classroom. Additionally, we will be hiring another member to help support the program at the YMCA. Please note: early preschool will not be moving locations at this time. After this phase is completed all preschool and pre-k children will need to be dropped off and picked up at the YMCA. There should be no interruption of care during this move.
Phase 3: WOW at the YMCA. This final phase of our program will move all of WOW’s operations to the YMCA before September of 2020. Again, there should be no interruption of care during the final move of our program. During the finalization of our move we will be able to add over 30 additional spaces for children and will include further staffing to fully support our program.
We hope that you, our families and supporters, will celebrate our success with us as we move forward with the change in locations. We are looking forward to being able to better serve our families and additional children in our community and continue to provide the high quality, affordable education that Union County families have come to expect at WOW. We will be posting updates of our progress on our Facebook page as well as on our fundraising website: www.savewow.org.
During this time of transition, we want to let you know that if you have any questions or concerns, you can always come and email Lauren at wow Lauren@wowchildcare.org.
Thank you for your continued support!
